HOW TO

Help

There are many ways that you can help. Please consider any of the following way to bless Karen.

DONATE MONEY

Any dollar amount you can donate, large or small goes directly towards paying her caregivers. This is our biggest and most ongoing need. Please use the link below to donate online. Or contact us if you are interested in offering a recurring monthly donation. It is currently costing us roughly between $4,500-$5000 a month to pay her caregivers. This is how much we pay in addition to the funds provided by IHSS to pay caregivers since they only pay for 9 hours a day and she needs 24 hour a day care. We cannot afford this on our own.

SPREAD THE WORD

Please help us get the word out to more people to help her get the care she needs.

Help spread the word about the caregiving job.

Spread the word to anyone who might be interested in volunteering.

Share the link to her website and encourage people to donate.

BE A CAREGIVER

We are looking to hire a female caregiver for the following shifts:

Mondays 5:30pm - 10:30 pm

Tuesdays 5:30pm - 10:30 pm

Wednesdays 5:30pm - 10:30 pm

Thursdays 5:30pm - 10:30 pm

Fridays 5:30pm - 10:30 pm

Saturdays 7:30am until 5:30pm

We are also looking at a different option of having someone be a live-in caregiver. They would live there for free rent plus compensation. The live-in would be required to wake up 2-3 times a night to help her. They would be responsible for 4 overnight shifts a week plus all day Saturdays.

HOLIDAY FUNDRAISERS

Consider supporting the following local businesses who will be giving a portion of their sales to help support Care for Karen.

Order Peppermint Bark, Oreo Bark, or any Holiday Sweets from Sweet Art Bake Shop in December and a portion will be donated to Karen's Care. Be sure to mention Karen when you place your order.

If you know of any other businesses who would be interested in offering a fundraiser, please let us know!

BRING A MEAL

A huge help would be for someone to bring dinner. You would stay and visit with her and help feed her since she has no use of her hands. We have a meal train setup for her dinners.

VOLUNTEER

If people could volunteer their time to come spend time and visit with her, we could fill the gaps in her schedule and we wouldn't have to pay for as many caregiving hours. This would be such a huge help!

FIND RESOURCES

We would love help researching resources. If you know of any financial assistance or grants that can help, any charities that have volunteers available to visit disabled people, or any other helpful ideas, we would love to hear from you!

DONATE A GIFT CARD

She does most of her shopping at Trader Joes and Walmart, however any gift cards to any store would be incredibly helpful. Gift cards towards her groceries will help her have more money available to cover her caregiver costs.
